DESCRIPTION:Falmouth Community Television plans to celebrate 30 years of operation with a “Community Media Block Party” on its premises on Saturday\, November 18th\, from 1-4 pm. \n\n\n\nWith indoor and outdoor attractions for the public to enjoy\, the event will strive to create the mood of an old-school block party\, with food trucks\, musical performances\, dance\, and games. \n\n\n\nThree of the area’s leading food trucks have confirmed they will be on hand to sell delicious treats during the event\, including BoPeeps\, offering contemporary American cuisine; the Filling Station\, providing farm-to-table style festival food; and Kono Pizza Cape Cod\, whose unique twist on pizza is served in cones. \n\n\n\nOn the entertainment front\, local DJ Evan Jones is scheduled to spin vinyl records\, and local artists\, including the Pat Ryan Trio\, The Dance Space\, Falmouth Fiddlers\, Turning Pointe Dance Studio\, and hip-hop composer The Zyg 808 plan live performances. \n\n\n\nThe Block Party will also host an FCTV Member Community Mini-Fair\, connecting visitors with local nonprofits such as Belonging To Each Other\, the Cape Cod Cape Verdean Museum and Cultural Center\, Falmouth Gun Safety Coalition\, Falmouth Pond Coalition\, Farming Falmouth\, The Green Center\, and Upper Cape Women’s Coalition. \n\n\n\nThe third and final hour of the event is scheduled to be broadcast live on FCTV’s public channel for home viewers. The event will be hosted by local personality Todd Gorell. \n\n\n\nVisitors will be treated to demonstrations of FCTV’s broadcast technology\, including the broadcast van and green screen chroma key studio. Ongoing tours of FCTV’s facilities will provide a chance to learn how residents can participate in getting their voices amplified using community media.
