Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) has added a new in-person class to its curriculum of video production and media classes called “Streaming For Creators.” This one-session workshop is designed to introduce musicians, artists, storytellers, and other creators to the world of online streaming through services like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. The initial offering of this class will be held at FCTV on Sunday, February 26, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Thanks to funding from the Falmouth Cultural Council, this first “Streaming For Creators” offering will be free of charge. Space is limited. Participants must show proof of vaccination and wear facemasks upon entry at FCTV.
The class will introduce the software and hardware required to start, including a demonstration of the open-source Open Broadcast Studio (OBS) and other software applications to help new streamers create an engaging online presence or performance. This two-hour session is a perfect opportunity to learn how to connect with new and existing audiences through the internet.
To register for the class, email tony@fctv.org or on the FCTV website at https://fctv.org/product/streaming/.
