Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) will offer a hands-on Vacation Animation Program during February school vacation week, inviting young creators to explore storytelling through claymation and paper animation.
The program runs Monday, February 17 through Thursday, February 20, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, and is open to children ages six through twelve. Participants will learn the fundamentals of animation by creating short, original animated projects using tactile, frame-by-frame techniques that encourage creativity, patience, and collaboration.
Designed for beginners, the program requires no prior experience. Students will develop ideas, build characters and scenes, and learn how movement and storytelling come together in animation. Finished projects will be shared with families and aired on FCTV’s Public Channel 6 as well as on FCTV’s YouTube channel, giving participants the excitement of seeing their work broadcast to the community.
Enrollment is strictly limited to eight students, allowing for individualized instruction and hands-on guidance.
The cost of the program is $125 for FCTV members and $160 for non-members. Advance registration is required.
FCTV’s vacation programs are part of the organization’s ongoing mission to provide accessible, creative media education opportunities for young people while building digital literacy and confidence through storytelling.
