FCTV is launching its new Digital Navigators Program with a free, two-part Scam Awareness Workshop designed to help residents protect themselves online amid a growing wave of digital fraud, phishing, and AI-driven scams.
The workshop will take place Monday and Tuesday, January 26 and 27, 2026, from Noon to 2:00 PM at FCTV, and is open to Falmouth residents at no cost.
With scams increasingly targeting older adults, veterans, and everyday internet users through email, text messages, fake websites, and social media, this timely program will provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance on staying safe in today’s digital environment.
Workshop Leaders
- Monday, January 26: The first session will be led by Falmouth Police Officer Julia Massi.
- Tuesday, January 27: The second session will be led by Allen Russell, FCTV’s Production & Education Manager.
What Participants Will Learn
Attendees will gain insights and tips to:
- Identify phishing emails, texts, and phone scams
- Recognize fake websites designed to mimic banks and trusted services
- Understand how AI is being used to create more convincing scams
- Protect personal information online and on mobile devices
- Navigate social media and search results more safely
